Men in Kilts Season 2 premieres this week on STARZ, and it’s a road trip you won’t want to miss. The first season was in Scotland. Where is Season 2 set?

The first season of the series took us on a road trip through Scotland. It made a lot of sense, especially with Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish bringing us the series. Scotland is home for both of them, and the show Outlander is set in Scotland.

For the second season, the duo took us on a road trip around another country. This is a country close to McTavish’s heart, as it’s where he now calls home. Where will we head to throughout the six episodes, and why is this country so important for a show that started off with a focus on Scotland and Scottish heritage?

Men in Kilts Season 2 location revealed

Back when the show was renewed, we found out where the duo would head. Men in Kilts Season 2 is set in New Zealand.

There’s a moment in the promo where Sam talks about the “island.” Well, Graham quickly points out that the country is made up of various islands. And we’re going to see a few of them.

New Zealand is where Graham now calls home. He went to the country to film The Hobbit, and history has been written from there for him. It’s where he lives with his now-wife and children.

The country is filled with Scottish influences. There were a lot of immigrants from Scotland that moved over, which isn’t surprising when you look at the landscape. It’s the reason a lot of Scots moved to North Carolina when they could. The mountainous regions remind a lot of Scots of home. Some of the culture’s history and influences have come from the Scots, and that’s something Sam and Graham will take us through during their road trip.

Men in Kilts Season 2 premieres on Friday, Aug. 11 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on STARZ.
