Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

I don’t see much happening in terms of foreshadowing in this chapter. This is more about making it clear who Claire and Jamie are at the Ridge. They need to do this after such a long time away. This is also about Claire finding her rhythm as the doctor of the Ridge again. I love how we see her find her footing with a surgery.

Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter

I expect to sort of see this chapter being used in the series, but not in full. I do think that it will be done as some sort of voiceover of Claire’s to explain what is going on at the Ridge now that they’re back.

The part that I think we may see is the surgery. This will all depend on how Fanny is brought in—and even whether she is brought in fully. The surgery is just a great way for Claire to find her footing again, and we’ll get to see Jenny assist, setting up who Jenny will be for people at the Ridge.
