3 best Claire moments in the Outlander Season 7 premiere
Droughtlander is over, and we got to see what would happen to Claire. Here are the best Claire moments from the Outlander Season 7 premiere.
It was a race against time for Jamie and Young Ian to save Claire from the gallows. At least, that’s what it seemed for Jamie. In the end, Claire was taken from the jail cell to a ship, which made it much harder for Jamie to be able to get his wife back.
Claire remained strong the whole time. It was much easier once she saw that Jamie was back in Wilmington and that he would help her. Now it’s time to look back at her top moments from the episode.
3 best Claire moments from the Outlander Season 7 premiere
These moments are in order of them happening in the episode. It’s often so hard to rank the moments. I will say that the reunion between Claire and Jamie isn’t on this list because it deserves a place on a very different list.
Dealing with life in the jail cell
Claire immediately just got to work settling in at the jail cell. What other choice did she have? Claire knew that she would have to wait for Jamie to come for her and find a way out of this. She also knew that Tom Christie was just outside, and he clearly didn’t believe that she was guilty of his daughter’s murder.
We see her pay for the gin that one of her fellow inmates wanted. Sometimes, it pays to have the right friends. We see it pay off a little when that woman claims to be the murderess. Maybe there was something in it for her, but she would have known the truth was going to come out. She did help Claire in her own way.
Helping Mrs. Martin
Claire was taken to the ship to treat a pregnant Mrs. Martin. She tries to keep the reason she was in the jail cell a secret, but she is the talk of the town. It wasn’t hard for Mrs. Martin to figure out that she was the one accused of murder. It turns out her husband didn’t check up on that.
I love that we just see Claire focused on healing. That’s who she is, and despite all the fear and stress, she’s not forgetting that. Calmly, she accepted the gossip and made it clear that she was here to help—and only help.
Listening to Tom Christie’s story
Claire could have quite easily ignored everything that Tom had to say. She could have just believed that he was guilty and almost pinned it on her. But Claire clearly knows this man. He couldn’t be guilty of murder.
We also see that she listened to things he told her in the past. She worked things out based on statements here and there. She spent time with him in what could have been some final moments as he took the fall for something neither of them did. No, I don’t believe Tom was actually guilty of murder but the rest of his story was true. And I don’t need the books to tell me that.
