Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter
This chapter certainly foreshadows Germain joining Claire and Jamie. We know that there is a major death coming. A fire at the printshop leads to Germain leaving and fearing that his parents blame him. That’s not the case at all. His parents just want to keep him safe, and this chapter is setting all of that up.
It’s clear that the Percy storyline will remain a plot point for some time.
Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter
I want to see Marsali and Fergus continue to be part of Outlander. If that is the case, I suspect that we’ll see at least some of this chapter used in the TV series. After all, the threat of Percy is real and it all leads to Germain being taken to the Ridge to live with Claire and Jamie for a while.
My fear is that there isn’t enough time. After Outlander Season 7, there are only 10 episodes to finish the story. I could see those 10 episodes finishing with everyone back in North Carolina together. That could suggest this chapter is used, but I just fear there isn’t enough time to show it all and instead, we’ll just be told some of it.
