Buck makes an offer that Roger starts to contemplate in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 105

We get to know more about Buck and how he ended up in Roger’s time in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 105. This is also a chance for Buck to apologize for past actions.

This chapter doesn’t continue the story too much for the two MacKenzie men. It’s more about bringing an element of closure for the two of them. For a long time, Roger has been angry at what Buck did, and this chapter offers a chance for Buck to apologize.

Buck makes an offer to Roger. We learn that Roger and Bree always planned to communicate while Roger was in the past, but Buck offers to go back through the stones to get word to Bree.

There is also an element of foreshadowing of things to come. As Buck makes his apologies, he also shares more about his life with Morag, and it’s clear that we see he isn’t planning on return to his wife. Maybe that’s not a bad thing for Morag, though.

Will the chapter be used in the TV series? Considering what it leads to, I certainly expect to see it used. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 105.
