Midge Maisel’s journey to stardom is almost at an end. Thanks to the flashforwards in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 5, we know she does make it big. It’s been a long and hard journey for her, though.

It doesn’t help that she’s in a time period when she isn’t on an equal footing with everyone else. The men in comedy rule it all, but she is trying to break the mold and fight for her place. She is set to be a trailblazer.

Season 1: This season starts in 1958. Midge has been married for four years when her husband tells her he is having an affair and is leaving her. This comes after a bad night at The Gaslight Cafe where he moonlights as a (terrible) comedian.

Season 2: This season mostly takes place in the summer of 1959. Heading to the Catskills was a big thing back then, and that’s what Midge and her family do. Joel and his family are there, too. Of course, Midge is the talk of the town as a divorcee.

Season 3: This season starts at the end of 1959 and runs into the summer fo 1960. Midge starts to see some success as a comedian, but it all comes crashing down at the end.

Season 4: We’re into 1960 in this season, seeing Midge has she struggles with the blow of losing her big gig. She needs to figure out what to do next.

Season 5: The final season is in 1961. Midge now knows what she wants to achieve, but she has to figure out how to do it. There are flashforwards to 1981 throughout the season to see where the characters are in the future.
