Could we have three years of new Outlander episodes?
We know Outlander Season 7A will premiere this summer. Season 7B is set to arrive in 2024. Could we end up with three straight years of new episodes?
When STARZ confirmed Outlander Season 7 would be split in two parts, we learned that the second half of the season would arrive in 2024. That gives us two years of new episodes. There is a chance that we could end up seeing three years of new episodes of the series.
How? Well, we still have Outlander Season 8 to come. Here’s how three years of new episodes could work.
Could Outlander Season 8 premiere in 2025?
We know that Season 7A will premiere in June 2023. We also know that Season 7B will arrive at some point in 2024. This could be as early as February 2024 based on the way STARZ released the first season. There was a six-month break between the two halves of the season.
Of course, there’s more content coming to STARZ now. Due to scheduling needs, there could be a slightly longer wait. However, it doesn’t change the decision by the network to bring us the second set of eight episodes next year.
While all that happens, Season 8 can start filming. It takes a good year and a bit to get through production and post-production. With a short break right now after a long Season 7 production, filming could start up later this year to have episodes ready by 2025. That does seem somewhat reasonable when we look at other Droughtlander lengths.
When you count the prequel series Blood of My Blood, we could even get four years in a row of the franchise. There is a chance that the prequel would arrive at some point in 2026. Then we’ll just have to wait and see how the universe is going to continue.
