Outlander Book Club: Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 60 breakdown
Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter
This chapter certainly seems to foreshadow Rachel and Ian’s decision to remain at Fraser’s Ridge. They will get some privacy there, and I think that’s important to Ian.
It also foreshadows Rollo. He fell in a trap in this, but it almost sounds like he could have made a mistake. We know he’s getting old, and having him remain out with the army is potentially putting him at risk. I’m so glad I know that nothing happens to him in battle now, but I did worry the first time I read this book.
Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter
I hope to see some of this chapter adapted so that we can get to know more about the Quakers. I’m just not sure that’s going to be the case, though. For the overall plot of the story, there isn’t really any need.
Ian can come in with an injured Rollo in another way. Jamie can just share what he has learned about Quaker marriages to help keep things condensed. There aren’t many episodes left of the series left, so the storylines need to be kept as condensed as possible.
