Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

This chapter is more about plot development more than anything else. John is with the militia for now, but eventually, he will get back to his home and family. Could it be that Germain helps that happen? After all, Germain can now go to Jamie to share where John is and get John out of enemy territory.

I think Germain laughing at the end is foreshadowing the mischievousness of this young boy. He is loyal to those he cares about. That’s the way he’s been raised. He knows that John is a friend, and he’s probably just thinking of all the things Fergus, Jamie, and Claire will do when they find out what’s going on.

Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter

I’m in two minds about whether this chapter will be used in either Outlander Season 7 or 8. While I think we may see some of John with the militia, I don’t think a lot of time will be spent on it. There’s just not enough time to cover the whole storyline.

This could mean skipping over something smaller like this. As much as I would love to see John’s life in Germain’s hands and seeing Germain’s loyalty, I understand why it might need to be skipped over.
