Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

I don’t think we ever get confirmation of how Rob Cameron is connected to the Camerons of the past, but I swear this foreshadows it. It’s clear that Rob has accomplices n the present day, but what about in the past? Is it possible that there is someone he knows who is now in the past, and have they already reached word to the Camerons?

Fortunately, this is decades before Roger and Bree get back to Jamie and Claire. However, there’s enough time from now to the 1770s to make sure someone is ready to take down the MacKenzies when they do return. We know there’s still trouble in Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone, and I can’t help but get a sense that this chapter foreshadows all of that.

Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter

I do think we’ll see this chapter used in the TV series. We know Andrew Whipp is back as Brian Fraser for Outlander Season 7, and it makes sense to have this entire part of Written in My Own Heart’s Blood play out in Season 7 instead of holding some of it back for Season 8.

We need to see Roger doing everything he can to save Jemmy, fully believing that Jem is in the past. We also need to see Brian helping Roger, without even realizing how they’re connected. If only Brian knew that it was his great-grandson in trouble.

There’s no reason for the series to skip over this. The chapters aren’t that long, so it’s possible to keep everything intact for the show.
