Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

The chapter certainly pushed the plot forward for John. It’s clear that he still has a long way to go to get back to his home—or to Hal, wherever he’s decided to go.

What we do get a little of is how Dottie and Denny are working together. While Denny is a Patriot, he is also loyal to family and those he cares about. This is Dottie’s uncle, and he’s going to make sure John gets away free.

Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter

It’s hard to say if this chapter will be used in the TV series. I can’t tell if John’s storyline is going to completely play out or not. I could, but is there enough time to tell everything from the books? With John not completely developed in previous seasons, there is a chance that the show will only focus on Jamie and Claire, Bree and Roger, and Ian with a bit of William thrown in as it connects to Jamie’s storyline.

I’m interested in how all this could play out. I’d be more than happy to have a Lord John Grey spin-off to get this instead.
