Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

This chapter is mostly about plot development. We’re seeing how everything is going with the search for John and Hal, and now Claire and Jenny are worried about Jamie. There isn’t too much in the way of foreshadowing.

It’s just clear that Ian is going to learn about his mom still being alive very soon. I think there’s also a hint at trouble as the British Army leaves Philadelphia. I don’t think we really need the hints about either of them, though, do we?

Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter

I expect to see this chapter used in the TV series. I’m sure we’ll see Jamie and Claire separated for a bit after everything with Lord John Grey. That will mean Claire worries, and it will mean Jenny heads off to the print shop for answers.

We need to see Claire and Jenny reconnect, and this is the best way to do that. We also need Ian to find out that his mom and Jamie are still alive. It makes sense to keep this whole chapter in place.
