When could Outlander Season 8 premiere on STARZ?

STARZ has confirmed that Outlander Season 8 is going to happen. We also know that it will be the final season. This makes knowing when it could come out all the more important. Just how long do we have with new episodes of the series? How long will it be until all we have is reruns to watch?

What we know right now is that Outlander Season 7 will premiere in summer 2023. There’s a chance that the season will be split in two, so what could this mean for Season 8?

Will Outlander Season 8 premiere in 2023?

There is no chance that we could see the eighth season this year. Production on Season 7 is still happening, and it takes a long time to get through writing, production, and post-production on this series.

We’re looking at 2024 at the very earliest, and even that is slim. There is a chance that Season 7 will be split in two with the second half of the season arriving in 2024.

Will Outlander Season 8 premiere in 2025?

Does that mean we have to wait until 2025 for the final season? It’s certainly possible. While writing work can start now, production won’t start until a little later in 2023. With a 10-episode season, we’re potentially looking at it taking at least six months, probably a little longer. This would likely mean sometime in early or mid-2024.

Then there’s the post-production, which can take six months or more. So, there is a chance of getting the final season at the end of 2024, but we’re probably looking at 2025 instead. We’ll be sure to keep an eye on things, although the series has never been fully open about the production timeline to avoid spoilers.
