Just the Outlander chapter

The chapter starts with Claire getting Hal back to Lord John Grey’s place. She immediately starts working on helping him, with Jenny and Mrs. Figg following her instructions. I love that the women don’t really question Claire. Jenny knows Claire well enough, but I love that Mrs. Figg just gets on with it.

While Claire helps Hal with his breathing, she explains that it isn’t his heart like he suspected. There are things that he can do to help himself, but he needs to be a fighter. Sure enough, Claire sees that he is a fighter, but she would love some modern-day medicine right now.

Germain comes in to warn Claire that people will know what happened to Hal. It’s possible that people will think Claire took Hal as prisoner and Germain is willing to help protect her. He’s such a good boy, and I love how much he cares about his family. He continues to remind me of a mini Fergus.

Claire decides that she needs to write letters, and she does it from John’s POV. It will look better than Claire writing something. Claire even has John’s signet ring and uses it to sign the letters. This brings up where John and Jamie are. They’re not back yet, and that can’t be a good thing.
