Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

There is certainly foreshadowing in this chapter. Ian and Rachel are together. We’ll pick up with them together in Written in My Own Heart’s Blood.

I also get a sense of the foreshadowing of trust.  We’ll see Emily return. We’ll get a few more details about Emily’s son, and we’ll also see Emily name Ian and Rachel’s child. A lot of women could be jealous or scared about this, but Rachel has accepted Ian. She also accepts Emily. She knows that she can trust Ian, and that doesn’t change.

Adapting An Echo in the Bone chapter

I hope to see this chapter used in Outlander Season 7. Of course, it won’t work as the ending to the season, but I want to see it used at some point. Maybe in a scene after Arch’s death?

It’s important to see Rachel and Ian love each other for who they are. We need to see Rachel accept Ian as a wolf, and also make it clear that she wants to be with him despite what it would mean for her acceptance with other Quakers. After all, Denny is following his heart with Dottie, is he not?
