Surprise purchases at Sasnak City: The Gathering 2022 were worth it

For the first time, Sasnak City: The Gathering 2022 included some surprise purchases for those with the lower tiers. What were they, and were they worth it?

One of the downsides of the lower tiers at a Sasnak City event is the downtime. This downtime offers some time to see the vendors and catch up with friends, but there can be a feeling of missing out compared to the higher tiers. Of course, meet and greets are available, but not everyone can get one of those tickets with only 12 spots per cast member available.

For Sasnak City: The Gathering 2022, Gina Phipps-Hubbell and her team tried something different. They brought surprise purchases for the lower tier. Anyone with a Leoch or lower tier was able to join in.

At first, it was just a small amount of people. For other surprises, it was available to everyone. What exactly were the surprises?

Surprise selfies at Sasnak City: The Gathering 2022

The surprises turned out to be selfies with some of the cast members. Everyone quickly took up the offer to pay just $45 for a surprise. One thing people know when it comes to a Sasnak City event is that Gina doesn’t con people into handing over their money. Whatever it is will be worth it.

That’s what happened here. The first offer was for selfies with Alexander Vlahos. Nobody knew what they were getting until they went into the event. Later in the event, it was selfies with Duncan Lacroix. It sounds like the plan is to keep offering some of these surprises at future events because they were popular with the attendees.

Selfies are included with the two higher tiers. Fraser’s Ridge ticket holders get selfies with the cast members at Turtle Soup, while Lallybroch ticket holders get them at the Chocolate Shop. Offering these surprises is a great way to offer the lower tiers something at an affordable price.
