There are some new faces coming to Outlander Season 7. We will also see some returning characters. Take a look at who we’ll get.

While we’re still waiting for an Outlander Season 7 premiere date, we do get other news. It’s all about casting for the season. We’re going to get to see some returning faces.

Of course, there are new characters in the series. We’d already known about the Hunters and finally got to meet Adult William, but there are other new characters coming into the series. Then there are the characters who will see a face change. This is definitely exciting.

Returning faces to Outlander Season 7

There are a few faces that you’ll get to see again on the series. The first is Steven Cree, who plays Ian Murray. We expected to see Ian return, especially when we found out the series was heading back to Lallybroch.

The big question for us was about Jenny Murray. Laura Donnelly is not returning, but we will see Jenny in the new season. The show has recast the role, with Kristin Atherton now in the role.

Lallybroch isn’t just going to involve the Murrays. There is a certain former wife of Jamie Fraser still around the area. Oh yes, Nell Hudson is going to return as Laighaore, and we’ll see her daughter Joan, with Layla Burns returning for the role.

There are two familiar faces that will lead to a lot of questions. You see, we can guess why the Murrays return with Claire and Jamie potentially going back to Lallybroch. If you’ve seen some of the photo leaks, you’ll know that’s happening with Young Ian in tow. What about the other familiar faces?

Graham McTavish and Lotte Verbeek are returning as Dougal MacKenzie and Geillis Duncan. Say what? That means some more time travel? We’re not sharing spoilers here, but we will get into these two returning characters soon.

Oh, and Andrew Whipp is also returning as Brian Fraser. Again, what?

What about the newer faces? We’ve explained Atherton coming into the show, but there is a new face for another character we’ve already met. We’ll get to meet Buck MacKenzie again.

Buck is Dougal and Geillis’s son, and we met him in Outlander Season 5. He was played by McTavish. Well, the show has recast the role with Diamard Murtagh playing the role.

Chris Fulton has now been confirmed as Rob Cameron. We’d heard this was likely, but we were still waiting for the series to confirm it.

Rod Hallett has been cast as Benedict Arnold. Yes, the Benedict Arnold. The series has moved into the Revolutionary War, so we were going to have to meet some of the big players in that part of the story, right?

Finally, we’ll meet Gloria Obianyo as Mercy Woodcock. Mercy is connected to Henry Grey’s story, which could connect to Lord John Grey’s return to the series.

Take a look at the full announcement for the Outlander Season 7 casting.
