Based on the first book in the novel, the first season introduces us to Karen Pirie, played by Lyle. She’s pulled into a case mostly because she’s a woman, but she will prove that she should be there for a lot more reasons.

There will be three episodes to the season. This finishes the story of the first novel, but there is a chance that there will be more to the tale later. There are plenty more books to adapt, and we would love to see Lyle continue to lead the series. She deserves all of this.

Each episode is 120 minutes. Yes, that’s two hours. Think of it a lot more like Sherlock than a traditional American crime drama.

The season will follow Karen as she is pulled into a murder investigation that initially started in 1996. A group of students was arrested and convicted of the murder of teenage barmaid Rosie Duff after they found her body in a St. Andrew’s graveyard. However, did they really do it? Did they keep secrets this whole time? That’s what Karen needs to figure out when there’s someone willing to risk everything to make sure all the secrets come out.
