Just the Outlander chapter

The chapter starts with John back on a ship. He’s heading to the Colonies with Dottie. This gives him a chance to realize that Dottie’s mother, Minnie, has encouraged Dottie to head to the Colonies. Why would she do that?

I just love that it’s taken this long for John to figure out the truth. Minnie has something up her sleeve.

Once John can get to Trois Fleches, he does. He wants information on Beauchamp, and he needs Baron Armandine at the place. Amandine isn’t what John thought, and I do find that interesting. Does it suggest that the whole of this mission isn’t what he originally thought?

John is also wrong about the relationship between Armandine and Percy. It turns out that Percy has gone hunting wolves with Beaumarchais, but we all know that’s code for something. What are the two actually doing?

Later on, Franklin comes into the story. He knows of Beauchamp at least, but John isn’t sure why. Franklin doesn’t give anything away, though. All we know at this point is that the whole plot is thickening.

It especially is when it comes to a letter from William. Denys has gone missing, and William fears that the man has died or got lost in the blizzard. However, the main thing that stands out is that William is suspicious of Richardson. It’s not clear in the letter why William is wary of the man just yet, but I think based on previous chapters, we can work that out. I just love how John and William seem to be figuring the same things out about people at different points and talk to each other about those thoughts.
