The plot thickens for Lord John Grey in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 33

We stay with Lord John Grey in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 33. However, he’s joined by Dottie, giving us a chance to see more of his connection to family.

Something that I love about Lord John is that he treats everyone the way he believes is right. That’s especially the case when it comes to children. They don’t have to be his to love them. We just have to look at how he raised William, and in the previous chapter, he feared his own mortality for William’s sake.

Well, in this chapter, we see him as an uncle to Dottie. There are moments where he is more like another parent to her, although he doesn’t try to actually parent her. He loves her. He’s a man of family that I love we see in An Echo in the Bone.

The chapter itself is mostly focused on Lord John Grey still trying to get to the bottom of what Percy wants. He’s still trying to work out the connections, but really, the plot ends up thickening.

I’m just not sure if this chapter can be used in the TV series, and it’s for the same reasons I’ve already looked at. As for foreshadowing, I think I see some of that in this chapter when it comes to the way John is around Dottie.

Let’s dive into An Echo in the Bone Chapter 33.
