Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

I certainly get a sense of foreshadowing in this chapter. It’s all based on the thoughts of war. Claire and Jamie have been separated due to war in the past. Is that going to happen again? It certainly seems like this chapter is threatening this.

Yet, the focus is on leaving Scotland. It’s not war that will separate them this time but trouble they face when they get to Scotland. In a way, it’s Scotland that causes problems for them and not war.

Adapting An Echo in the Bone chapter

I’m not sure if this chapter will be used in Outlander Season 7. It could but with Lizzie’s first pregnancy. We know Lizzie is pregnant in the show, and by the time Claire gets back from Wilmington, she’ll likely need to go straight into the storyline of Scotland. Of course, the show has managed time jumps before, so we could still see Lizzie’s second pregnancy.

I don’t think the birth is all that necessary, though. It’s not like Monika is going to be there since Lizzie’s father hasn’t come over from Scotland in the show. Plus, the use of the birth is the reason Claire and Jamie haven’t left the Ridge yet. We only really need that in a quick mention as Claire worries about leaving people behind.

Not everything can be used in the series. If something has to be cut out, this is one of the chapters to remove.
