With talks that Outlander Season 7 could be the last of the series, fans want to know how the story comes to an end in the books. Is there even an ending to the story just yet?
A few years ago, we were told not to worry about the ending of Outlander. We got word that it would be nothing like Game of Thrones, which got ahead of the book series and well, the rest is history. Fans worried that the Outlander TV series would get ahead of the books and ruin it all.
We don’t have to worry about the show getting ahead of the books, but there is a chance the series will end before the book storyline does. While there are talks for Season 8 at the moment, there are also talks about how to wrap the story with Season 7 if necessary. That does have us worried.
Fans of the series who haven’t read the books will want to know what the ending is. Will we get answers to some of our burning questions, like who the ghost was in the series premiere? Well, there’s a little bit of bad news to those who want the spoilers.
The Outlander books haven’t come to an end yet
We don’t have an ending just yet. Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone is the most recent book in the series published. It’s the ninth book in the story, and Diana Gabaldon is now working on the 10th book. The 10th, and currently untitled, book is slated to be the last.
All we know right now is that we’ll find out who the ghost is. Okay, we know who the ghost is. It’s Jamie. The final book is going to explain how and why he was there.
So, as of right now, there are no spoilers to share. Hopefully, the TV series gets to continue the story for more seasons so we don’t have to worry about the ending just yet.
