Outlander Book Club: When will we start An Echo in the Bone?

You may have noticed we’re getting close to the end of A Breath of Snow and Ashes in the Outlander Book Club. We already have a plan for Book 7.

We’re almost at the end of our read-through of the sixth book in the series. We’ll be moving on to An Echo in the Bone, also referred to as Echo by fans who need to shorten the titles. Sure, there is still a week and a half left to get through Book 6, but we’re already looking ahead at when to start Book 7.

Yes, we are sticking to the books in order. I did put out a poll for those on Facebook and Twitter to find out which book you wanted to cover in the book club after The Fiery Cross since at the time Outlander Season 6 hasn’t come out. The majority said to keep reading in order instead of jumping to the ninth book (which was new out at the time) and then jumping back.

We’ll wrap A Breath of Snow and Ashes a week tomorrow, on Tuesday, Aug. 9.

Update: There are two epilogues that I overlooked. We’ll finish them on Thursday, Aug. 11. It won’t affect the start date for An Echo in the Bone.

When will we start Outlander Book 7?

There is going to be just short of a week off after finishing A Breath of Snow and Ashes. I like to give people a chance to catch up if they fell a little behind, but I don’t want to leave too much of a break. We’re in Droughtlander right now, so we all need a way to get through it. This book club has certainly helped me.

We’ll start An Echo in the Bone on Monday, Aug. 15.

If you want to start reading ahead, feel free. However, we try to keep things spoiler-free except in the foreshadowing section of the posts. I assume if you’re reading about foreshadowing, you pretty much know or want to know what’s to come.

Up to this point, each book has been longer than the last. Book 7 has a shorter chapter count than the last couple of books, coming in at just 103. That doesn’t mean there’s no action!
