Outlander Season 7 filming is well under way and there are some lucky fans spotting it as it happens. Leaked photos hint at some time travel happening.
If you’re in a few Outlander groups on Facebook, you will have seen fans sharing photos they’ve got from Outlander Season 7 filming. Much of it is taking place around Glasgow, and the photos certainly give away some spoilers.
If you haven’t read An Echo in the Bone or Written in My Own Heart’s Blood, you will want to skip this post. We’re delving into the spoilers from the books based on what the leaked photos tell us. Sadly, we don’t have the link to photos as they seem to have been removed from Twitter, but there are a few Outlander groups on Facebook with them in.
Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin filming Outlander Season 7
The photos have been of Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin. However, they aren’t dressed in their usual 18th century attire. They are wearing modern-day clothing, and this isn’t because they’re just on their way to set. They are in the middle of filming.
Skelton is spotted in jeans and brown boots. She is also wearing a big coat, but this is likely to remain warm while filming in Scotland. I can tell you that Scottish weather is unpredictable, even in the summer!
Roger is spotted in black trousers and a black sweatshirt. It’s clear that he is in the 20th century. Both of them are.
This means that we will see Bree and Roger travel through the stones at some point in Outlander Season 7. In the books, this happens because their daughter Amanda needs a surgery that can only be done in their own time. They take her and Jemmy to their own time to see Claire’s friend Joe Abernathy. There is a chance that we’ll see Joe again for this storyline, but that’s not confirmed just yet.
The family intends to remain in the present day. However, they end up needing to travel back during the eighth book and they’re back at the Ridge in the ninth book. We’ll have to wait and see just how it all plays out in the series, but it looks like there is some time travel going on.
