Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

There is a little bit of foreshadowing in the chapter. It’s all about Jamie’s realization that Tom Christie loves Claire. This is the case, and it’s going to be important in the next few chapters. What will a man do for love? In this case, he’ll risk execution to make sure the woman he loves isn’t hanged for a crime she didn’t do.

Most of it is plot development, though. I guess there is a little bit of foreshadowing in the way Richard Brown is acting. He needs to find a way to split Claire and Jamie up as he gets antsy about the situation.

Adapting A Breath of Snow and Ashes chapter

The chapter was adapted for the series. Jamie hasn’t seemed to figure out that Tom is in love with Claire yet, but that’s not the important part of the story. It’s all about Claire and Jamie in this section. We need to see that bit of humor about the hand to break up some of the drama.

We also get the moment with Young Ian. This is important for the final episode of the season. Young Ian needs to know where Jamie is so he can get help and return. He isn’t going to let his uncle fight this one alone.
