The No. 1 Marsali moment in Outlander Season 6
Marsali had some standout moments throughout Outlander Season 6. Here’s a look at her top moment, and what made it so special.
It wasn’t an easy season for Marsali and Fergus. They faced some demons in the aftermath of the attack at the end of Outlander Season 5. However, it did bring us some more excellent Marsali moments.
This was the season she showed just how much she can care for her family alone. However, she also loves Fergus. She wants him back, and it takes a dark journey to get him to come home fully.
With everything that happened, it could be hard to pick a top moment. Here’s my favorite, with the reason why.
Marsali’s standout moment in Outlander Season 6
It’s all about the birth of Marsali’s fourth child, Henri-Christian. More importantly, it’s all about her reaction toward the baby.
We find out quickly that Henri-Christian is a dwarf. Fergus is disappointed, immediately walking away from his son. There is a much bigger reason for this other than a father being ashamed of having a son with a physical disability. But this isn’t about Fergus. It’s all about Marsali.
Marsali’s reaction was very different. She immediately loves her son, thinking him beautiful. She sees past his outward appearance and immediately makes it clear that she is going to be protective of him.
Many mothers at the time would have turned their backs on Henri-Christian. In the book A Breath of Snow and Ashes, Claire notes that could have been the case, but she’s happy to see that Marsali immediately weclomes the baby into her family.
Really, we’re seeing something we should have expected. Marsali got to know Fergus after he lost his hand. She didn’t see him as a cripple, but as a man she found attractive and who was kind. She fell in love with him for who he was and not what he could offer. That continues with her son. She doesn’t fear what could happen to him right away. She just sees the baby as the innocent life he is, and she cherishes that.
