Will there be a Season 7 of Outlander?

Now that we’re in another Droughtlander, we want to make sure it is just a Droughtlander. Will Outlander Season 7 happen at STARZ?

Outlander Season 6 came to an end much sooner than we’d have liked. We’re into another Droughtlander. Of course, the further we get into a season, the more we worry about it. Is there a chance that the cast will be done with the series? Could STARZ choose to cancel it?

STARZ shows are hard to make a call on. While we can see the live ratings, they don’t give us the full picture of the series. They just tell us how many people tune in live on the channel, and not the number of people who watch through the app. This makes it harder to predict renewals and cancellations.

There is some excellent news about Outlander Season 7, though.

Is Outlander Season 7 happening at STARZ?

We’ve known that Season 6 wouldn’t be the last for a while. We heard during the previous Droughtlander that there would be more to the story. This was partly done to help us get through Droughtlander, but also to make sure the next Droughtlander would be as short as possible.

We know that Season 7 is happening. That’s not all. We know the season is currently in production and it will have 16 episodes.

What we don’t know yet is when the seventh season will premiere. At the moment, we’re looking at late 2022 or early 2023. If we’re honest, we’re looking at the latter. We’re also expecting the season to be split in two to help keep Droughtlander to a minimum.

Talks for Season 8 are currently happening. We’re hoping there will be some good news about that soon.
