Will Outlander Season 7 premiere in 2022?
Now that Outlander Season 6 has come to an end, we’re ready for a new season of the series. When can we expect the Outlander Season 7 premiere? Will it happen in 2022?
The Outlander Season 6 finale ended on one major cliffhanger. That’s not surprising considering the season was cut short, but it makes us need the new season sooner rather than later. Now all eyes are on when the seventh season is going to premiere on STARZ.
We don’t yet have a premiere date. That doesn’t stop us speculating and looking at potential release dates. Most importantly, it doesn’t stop us from looking at a year that the season could be released.
Right now, we want to know if Outlander Season 7 could arrive in 2022. Is that even going to be possible?
Outlander Season 7 probably won’t premiere in 2022
We’re not expecting it to arrive in 2022. Of course, Deadline has previously reported that the season could arrive in late 2022. This is something STARZ is considering, but early 2023 is also a potential release period.
2023 is more likely, especially with when filming probably got started. We don’t get to know exactly when filming for Outlander starts. Usually, the news of production starting comes out weeks after the actual beginning, and that seems like the case here. We got a promo photo that shows the Frasers and MacKenzies back at the Ridge when the news of production starting dropped in April. That would suggest that production actually started in March.
We have to keep in mind that the season is going to be 16 episodes long. However, it could be released in two parts, similarly to Season 1. This would make a lot of sense, helping to keep Droughtlander to a minimum.
We’re not saying 2022 is impossible, especially if the season is cut in half. However, we’re saying we’re more likely to see it in 2023.
