Outlander Book Club: A Breath of Snow and Ashes Chapter 67 breakdown
Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter
The little bit of foreshadowing is in the letter of resignation. Jamie has planned this, which is why Crombie has come along for the ride. Jamie needs to make it clear that he is switching sides—or more likely that he’s not a mole (that animal of choice was important) when it comes to getting back in with the Patriots.
I think we also get the foreshadowing that the Cherokee will stand by Jamie. He is the one that they trust and respect, showing that kindness and understanding go a long way.
Adapting A Breath of Snow and Ashes chapter
The chapter wasn’t fully used in the series, and that’s not too surprising. A lot had to be worked into Outlander Season 6. Jamie delivering the guns was the perfect time to bring out someone else’s storyline. We got to hear about Young Ian’s journey.
I do like the way the show handled the combination of so many moments. Skipping over Crombie being with the Cherokee didn’t bother me. Maybe that’s because I was more bothered about Young Ian and his story. I really wanted to see him gain some closure, and this episode offered that.
