Outlander Season 6 finale recap: Jamie and Claire go on the worst road trip ever
The fisherfolk turn up in the Outlander Season 6 finale
Hiram Crombie leads the fisherfolk in the night. Hiram has heard from Brown about everything, and he wants Claire to go with the men to face trial. The other fisherfolk aren’t too bothered about a fair trial. They view Claire as a murderer and a witch, and they want Claire dead for it.
Jamie continues to refuse to give up Claire. That’s when Tom Christie steps in. He suggests that they go to trial. He wants justice done properly. To head out, he promises to ride with them and agrees that Jamie should accompany Claire.
It’s clear that Tom is grieving, but it doesn’t look like he’s all too certain Claire had something to do with it. If Tom really felt like Claire was responsible, there is no way that he would have let Jamie accompany her.
And so, off Claire and Jamie go on the worst road trip ever. When they realize there isn’t a judge in the nearest town, they decide they need to go to Wilmington. Cross Creek is closer, but Richard Brown points out that Claire and Jamie have family and friends there. He doesn’t think Claire would get a fair trial.
Well, it’s not like she’s going to get a fair trial. What he means is that she won’t get the guilty plea that he wants. Richard goes as far as spreading the news that Claire is a murderer on the road. The people at Wilmington will hear all about it before Claire and Jamie even get there. We all know what happens when a group of people has made a decision based on hearsay. Claire doesn’t stand a chance.
