Outlander Season 6, Episode 5 live ratings: Holding steady
We’re back to look at the live ratings for Outlander Season 6, Episode 5. While they are still low, they did hold steady last week.
It’s that time of the week again where we look back at how the episode performed in terms of the ratings. Of course, these ratings are limited.
We like to preface these posts by saying that the Nielsen ratings for any premium cable network are limited. They look at those who tuned in live on the channel when it airs. That means for Outlander Season 6, Episode 5, the live ratings count those who watched on the STARZ channel at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
Those who watch via the app aren’t counted in these figures. However, those who watch through the app still count for STARZ. It’s actually easier for STARZ to see just how many people are tuning into our favorite series, helping to encourage the network to renew the series after the upcoming seventh season.
Outlander Season 6, Episode 5 live ratings
Let’s take a look inside the live ratings. TV Series Finale has them listed as 0.486 million people watching and a 0.4 in the demo. The demo held steady from the previous week. The total audience was up by a little more than 2%.
These are good signs. While the ratings are down from Season 5, they are steady now. It does mean those who are watching live do come back.
The dips don’t mean that those who disappear are actually not watching. It’s possible that they’ve decided to get the app after all and are watching at midnight with so many others.
The total audience is going to be what STARZ pays attention to the most. The demo is the 18-49 age range and is used by the advertisers. Advertisers mostly aim their commercials to the 18-49 age range, so they want to see the numbers up. STARZ doesn’t have third-party advertising as the money is made through subscribers to the channel or the app.
