Outlander Season 6, Episode 4 live ratings: A big dip for a big episode
Outlander Season 6, Episode 4 brought us a major episode for Young Ian. It saw the biggest dip of the season in the live ratings.
Before we get into the numbers, the dip in ratings isn’t necessarily a concern. There is a huge chance that the people flocking to the STARZ App was much higher this week than during previous weeks.
The live ratings are just a basic guide at how a show is performing on STARZ. The Nielsen ratings only look at the live viewers on the channel at the time of the first airing of the episode. These numbers do not include those who watch via the app, whether at midnight, sometime during the day, or at 9 p.m. ET/PT to watch with friends.
We also don’t really need to worry about the ratings right now. We know Season 7 is happening.
Outlander Season 6, Episode 4 live ratings
According to TV Series Finale, the ratings saw the biggest dip of the season while it’s been on the air. We’re not really comparing the dips between seasons. There are a lot of factors that go into that dip and it’s usually big.
The episode lost 17% of its live audience, dropping to 0.475 million. The demo dropped 33% to 0.4, which is the lowest of the season. Keep in mind that the demo wouldn’t really matter for STARZ anyway. The demo is the 18–49 aged viewers and is for the advertisers as that’s who most of the ads are aimed toward.
It is disappointing to see a big dip in the ratings, especially if you don’t understand how the ratings are calculated and how they work.
It’s worth noting that even with the dip, the series remains in sixth place in the demo across the whole of STARZ. The audience is still the top audience for the channel. We can’t complain about that!
