The series continued that with the renewal of Outlander Season 7. Due to the pandemic, STARZ opted to renew the series without waiting for Season 6 to air. There will still be a relatively long Droughtlander due to the pandemic, but it will be shorter than it would have if STARZ waited for it.

There are currently seven seasons of Outlander confirmed. Five of those seasons are on STARZ (four are on Netflix in the U.S.), and the sixth season is set to premiere in early 2022.

Is Season 7 of Outlander going to happen?

There will be a seventh season of the series. STARZ confirmed the renewal in early 2021, making it possible for the writers to get ahead with that work ready for filming.

How many episodes are in Outlander Season 7?

There was originally going to be 12 episodes to the season. This would match the episode count for both Seasons 5 and 6. However, things changed due to the pandemic.

Outlander Season 6 will now only have eight episodes, making it the shortest season so far. The four episodes from the season have been added to Season 7.

When is Outlander Season 7 filming?

Filming of the season is set to start sometime in 2022. It’s not exactly clear when yet, but the producers hope that the new year will mean fewer COVID protocols.
