Brianna is becoming the most underused character in Outlander Season 6. That doesn’t mean she didn’t have some good moments in Episode 3.
With Marsali and Fergus moving more center-stage in Outlander Season 6, other characters need to take a step back. That’s especially the case with some new characters to focus on and Young Ian also getting more screentime.
The character losing out is Brianna. It’s a shame because Brianna is finding her place in the past as she figures out how to use her mind to help the people of the Ridge. We get to see some of that in Outlander Season 6, Episode 3. There aren’t many Bree moments, but there are some good ones.
3 best Bree moments in Outlander Season 6, Episode 3
Not making a comment about the matches
Brianna tried to bring matches to the Ridge, but Marsali and Lizzie laughed her off. She could have brought that up when Marsali thanked Bree for the spinning wheel, but that didn’t happen. Bree understands that not all her “inventions” are going to be accepted.
Marsali didn’t need Bree bringing anything up. She needed a sister to talk to about Fergus and life right now. That’s what Bree is for Marsali in this moment. I’ve always wanted to see Marsali and Bree bond more on the series, and we have that moment in this episode.
Coming up with the reason behind the name Vroom for the toy car
The same scene has another of my favorite moments. It’s all about the Vroom! This was a moment from the book that I hoped would come, although it is under different circumstances. We don’t see that Roger made it and that they become popular with the kids at the Ridge. Jemmy loves it, though.
The best Bree moment comes from explaining the name of the toy car. How can Bree explain why it’s called a Vroom when Marsali doesn’t know she’s a time traveler? This moment did make me wish that Marsali and Fergus would get to know the full truth, but Bree’s ability to think on the spot was fun to see.
Thinking about Lizzie’s future
Toward the end of the episode, it’s time for the collection of rent. Lizzie and Marsali get some time away from the kids, and we get to see Lizzie and Roger together. Knowing Evan Lindsay is single, Bree suggests setting him up with Lizzie.
It’s clear she has been completely oblivious to Lizzie and the Beardsley twins. However, I love that Bree is thinking about Lizzie’s future as a wife. Nobody else seems to have done, but it should probably fall on Bree as Lizzie’s “owner.” Although, I’m not sure that indentured servant contract is still in place. I’m sure Bree would have torn it up as soon as it was safe to do so.
