5 big takeaways from the Outlander Season 6, Episode 4 promo and synopsis
Someone from Young Ian’s past turns up in Outlander Season 6, Episode 4. Here’s what we can expect based on the promo and synopsis.
When we learned the episode title for Episode 4 was “Hour of the Wolf,” we suspected that it would be a big episode for Young Ian. That certainly looks the case now that we’ve seen the promo and synopsis for the episode.
However, there is a lot more going on. With the Revolutionary War not that far away, Jamie needs to consider what’s going to happen to the Cherokee and other Native Americans. Brianna is the one with that information, and it’s not good.

5 takeaways from the promo and synopsis for Outlander Season 6, Episode 4
Brianna feels the weight of things to come
When Bree tells Jamie about the Trail of Tears, it’s clear that she feels the weight of things to come. She doesn’t agree with the way that the Cherokee and others will be treated. And right now, she feels helpless. She knows what is to come, and there’s nothing she feels she can do to stop it. Can Jamie help?
Jamie needs to arm the Cherokee quickly
Jamie knows that he needs to arm the Cherokee quickly. Major MacDonald brought the guns, and now Jamie needs to get them straight out to the Indians. He and Young Ian will spend some time in the episode with Bird and his tribe.
Jamie meets another Indian Agent
While there, Jamie is going to meet another Indian Agent. Alexander Cameron has also been given the task, and it looks like both men are with Bird at the same time. This is a chance for them to share their own notes. In the book, Cameron is important for Jamie to share some knowledge of the future. Will that be the way things play out during this new episode?
Young Ian’s story is likely to come out
We know a little about Young Ian’s time with the Mohawk up to this point. He didn’t want to leave, and he left his wife and potentially a child behind. It’s clear the child couldn’t have survived. Young Ian wouldn’t have walked away from a baby. So, what happened? It looks like we’ll find out when a Mohawk tribesman turns up at the Cherokee.
The Beardsley twins continue to be Claire’s guinea pigs
Back at the Ridge, Claire wants to test out her ether on others. She also wants to help Malva to learn how to use the ether. In the books, Bobby Higgins and Lizzie are the guinea pigs, but it looks like the show isn’t introducing Bobby. I did wonder that. Instead, just like with Claire’s penicillin, the Beardsley twins get to be the guinea pigs when it comes to ether.
