Outlander Season 6, Episode 2 live ratings: The audience sees a dip
The live ratings for Outlander Season 6, Episode 2 are in. The audience saw a dip in the numbers, but what does this mean for the series?
While the live ratings don’t affect much in terms of the future of STARZ shows, it doesn’t stop us from looking into them. They’re somewhat of an indication of how TV shows are doing. However, it’s worth noting that Outlander has always performed better in streaming numbers than in live numbers.
It needs to be mentioned each week. The Nielsen ratings aren’t a true indicator of how our favorite STARZ series is doing. The live ratings look at how the show performs live on the channel when it airs. This is a later time than the previous five seasons, airing at 9 p.m. ET/PT instead of 8 p.m. That is going to affect the number of people who tune in on the channel live compared to the people who watch on the app.
There is a large number of people who watch on the app. Some tune in at midnight as soon as it drops. Others will watch it throughout Sunday (some more than once) before it has a chance to air live on the channel. These are the numbers STARZ sees each week and pays the most attention to when it comes to renewing shows. Of course, we know that Outlander Season 7 is already a go.

The demo remained the same compared to the Season 6 premiere. This means the 18-49-year-olds are checking in the same. This age bracket is important for traditional broadcast channels as it’s the age bracket the advertisers aim for. We don’t worry too much about it on STARZ, which doesn’t have traditional advertisers.
The total audience for Outlander Season 6, Episode 2 saw a dip compared to the premiere. According to TV Series Finale, 0.559 million people tuned in live for the episode. That was a 12.7% drop in the numbers.
It’s nothing to be concerned about. We’re sure the number of people tuning in via the app is much higher. Maybe STARZ will give us those numbers one day!
