3 best Claire moments in Outlander Season 6, Episode 2
Claire attended a rather unusual funeral in Outlander Season 6, Episode 2. Here’s a look at her best moments from the whole episode.
We get some excellent moments from A Breath of Snow and Ashes throughout the new episode of Outlander Season 6. That includes the rather unusual funeral, which sees Claire immediately realize what’s really going on.
Claire stands out for many reasons during this episode. She is still suffering from PTSD, which is going to continue throughout the season, I’m sure. That’s a good thing. TV shows can’t get away with just overlooking trauma recovery anymore, and Outlander never has.
What were the standout moments for Claire throughout the episode? Here are my three favorite moments.
3 best Claire moments from Outlander Season 6, Episode 2
Attempting to bring Malva in as her apprentice
The first thing that stands out is the way she is with Malva. Claire wants to make sure Malva is looked after. This is a young woman without a mother, and Claire tends to step into mothering roles now when necessary. Just look at the way she’s become a mother to Marsali at times.
Claire realizes that Malva is interested in medicine. So, rather than just overlooking that point, she suggests that Malva accompany her to see Marsali. It’s clear that Malva’s family doesn’t like the idea. That doesn’t stop Claire from keeping the invitation open and supporting Malva’s decision when she chooses to follow passion over family.
The unusual funeral
We get an excellent scene from the books. Roger does the funeral for Mrs. Wilson, but it’s anything but normal. Mrs. Wilson comes back to life during it, and Claire very quickly steps in to find out what’s going on.
Claire immediately realizes what the situation is. She knows that Mrs. Wilson isn’t going to be alive for long, but she doesn’t say anything in the scene. She just gives Roger a look, allowing him to be the one to share what’s going to happen. There are not just her medical skills showing through, but it seems she’s learning that sometimes it’s best for her not to say anything.
Being someone for Jamie to work his thoughts through with
We always see Claire and Jamie turn to each other when they want advice. Sometimes, they just want someone to talk to who they can trust. And they trust each other. That’s what happens in Outlander Season 6, Episode 2.
Claire remains that sounding board for Jamie. He is worried about what asking for guns will mean. He needs to know a bit more about what happens to the Native Americans before he even considers requesting guns. These sorts of moments (as well as the sexy ones) are important to show how much of a bond couples have, especially Claire and Jamie.
