The Outlander Season 6 premiere set up a lot of storylines for the next seven episodes. Here are our five biggest questions from the episode.

There was certainly a lot going on in the Outlander Season 6 premiere. The episode also made some big deviations from the book, A Breath of Snow and Ashes. There are some complaints over one of the deviations, but Claire’s actions certainly show how trauma can change people and that she isn’t unbreakable despite everything she’s been through.

We’re going to treat this post as if the answers don’t lie in the book. After all, with deviations, it’s clear that some of the storylines could change further. Let’s just enjoy this for what it is: a TV series.

5 biggest questions after the Outlander Season 6 premiere.

1. What’s going on with Fergus?

We can see that Fergus is on a downward spiral. Marsali shared a little about what’s going on. He blames himself for the attack despite him not even being there to stop Lionel Brown and his men. Fergus also hinted at what is going on.

This is something that is sure to get worse before it gets better. Just how worse will it be, though? Do we have to worry about Marsali and Fergus? Will we need to worry about their children? Can they find happiness again?

2. Will something happen between Lizzie and the Beardsleys?

Lizzie was certainly flirting with the Beardsley twins during the Outlander Season 6 premiere. It looks like she’s ready for something a little more serious to happen with them. But which one?

We know how the book goes, but what about the series? Will we see Lizzie find a way to be with both brothers? Will the brothers want that? Isn’t that a bit of a strange relationship? This is going to get exciting.

3. How important will the Bugs become?

Okay, so this is partly based on the books. We know the big role they do play in A Breath of Snow and Ashes. Will they play that role in the sixth season?

They’ve become a much bigger part of the story in the premiere than they did throughout Season 5. It’s clear that the show wants us to remember them and pay attention to them. Why is that exactly? Will they offer further help to the Frasers or are they going to cause trouble?

4. How much trouble with Richard Brown cause?

Richard Brown is understandably unhappy with the Frasers. After all, he knows that Jamie was somewhat responsible for his brother’s death. So, when Richard showed up with his Committee of Safety, it’s clear that there’s some sort of trouble.

There was a mention of fires in the local area. We’ve already seen these fires and assumed that Hodgepile’s guys were responsible. Is it something to do with the Browns instead?

5. What happened to Tom Christie’s wife?

We didn’t miss the mention of Allen Christie’s mother burning in hell. Tom doesn’t seem to have much love lost for his late wife. What exactly happened to her?

There is a lot to learn about Tom’s back story. Jamie says that Tom likely got word that his wife died while he was in Ardsmuir. Malva is way too young to have been born at that time, so was she born to a second wife? Where is this second wife? What are Tom’s secrets?
