Where is Outlander Season 6 classed as a Netflix Original?
Outlander is a STARZ Original in the United States. When it comes to some parts of the world, it’s classed as a Netflix Original. Where do you need to be and what does this mean?
STARZ is not available in every country around the world. Because of that, the premium cable network and Sony need to find a way to bring Outlander to those countries. In some countries, Outlander Season 6 is classed as a Netflix Original for this reason.
Netflix doesn’t have any part in creating the show. Instead, it exclusively licenses the content. In the majority of cases, this content isn’t going to leave Netflix because of this “original” contract, although there have been times that we’ve seen “Netflix Originals” leave due to other contracts being made.
Where is Outlander a Netflix Original?
There are eight countries where the series has the original branding. There is a ninth where the series heads to the streamer weekly but doesn’t have the original branding. It’s important to note that as it means a different type of license, similar to the one Amazon Prime Video in the UK had for a while.
All Outlander Season 6 episodes will release on Netflix weekly in these countries. This is usually the day after a new episode airs in the States, so the premiere will air on Sunday, March 7.

- Singapore
As of right now, South Korea and Singapore don’t have the show listed as coming weekly in March. The show still has the branding, so it seems strange that there isn’t the notification that it will arrive. This could change at the time of this publishing if Netflix realizes there has been a mistake.
