Everest update: What’s happening with the Sam Heughan movie?
We love seeing the Outlander stars rising in the world of TV and movies. However, not all projects go as planned, such as Everest.
Back in 2021, we learned that Sam Heughan would be in a movie with an outstanding cast. He was joining Ewan McGregor and Mark Strong in Everest, a movie about climbs on the titular mountain.
We’re certainly excited for Heughan’s career. However, there is some bad news as of late. It looks like the project is on hold indefinately.
Sam Heughan confirms filming of Everest isn’t happening
While promoting Outlander Season 6, Heughan appeared on the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show in the UK. The spot was mostly all about the time-traveling love story, but things took a turn at the end. After all, like many of us, Zoe Ball was interested in some of Heughan’s other projects.
The one on mind right now is Everest. We know that filming was supposed to start earlier this year, but it ended up being postponed. According to the Daily Express writeup, filming is on hold indefinately.
Heughan confirmed that schedules couldn’t match up for the movie. As of right now, it’s not happening. That doesn’t mean it won’t in the future, but things aren’t looking great. Understandably, Heughan is disappointed. However, he is a busy man.
We know that he was traveling New Zealand in February for Men in Kilts Season 2. He’s now doing promotion work for Outlander Season 6, and it shouldn’t be too long before filming for Season 7 is underway.
Maybe when filming for Outlander Season 7 is complete, everyone involved in Everest can get together and see if their schedules match up again.
Outlander Season 6 premiers on Sunday, March 6 on STARZ.
