Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter
We do get a chance to see that Claire is bringing more of the modern-day practices to her surgery. This is going to have a knock-on effect. People already view her as a witch.
However, the real foreshadowing is in Malva’s storyline. Both Tom and Allan Christie are protective of Malva. It’s easy to understand why Tom is. He is her father, after all. Allan is also protective, but that’s for another reason. Allan doesn’t actually keep the men away.
He’s encouraging Malva to sleep with multiple men because she’s pregnant with his child. This is one of those shocking storylines at first, but as you look back, you can see where a lot of the seeds were sown.
Adapting A Breath of Snow and Ashes chapter
I’m not sure how much of this chapter will be used in Outlander Season 6, but I do think some of it needs to be. Bobby Higgins may not be used. It’s going to depend on whether the show will actually focus on his storyline. Bobby would be a great character, but I do think the show could use an already established character for this. Maybe John Quincy Myers would offer to be a guinea pig.
I would love to see the ether used. We also need to see Malva helping Claire in the surgery. It’s important to see that bond form between them, making Malva’s storyline all the more traumatic and bittersweet.
