With the Outlander Season 6 premiere getting closer, STARZ is giving us some individual promos for the main characters. It’s all about Roger today.

Roger has been on one hell of a journey since his introduction at the end of Outlander Season 2. We have seen him go from 20th-century professor to a man willing to kill for family. He’s a man of peace but found his place in a time of war.

At the end of Outlander Season 5, he finally got the chance to return to his own time. Yet, when he and Bree went through the stones, they found themselves back in the 18th century. Home is where the heart is, and that is in the past.

Now it’s time for Roger to figure out a place. He needs to figure out what to do. And that’s what the latest character promo gives us a hint at.

Outlander Season 6 promo for Roger

Roger needs to figure out what he’s supposed to do. Whatever it is, it will not be at the price of family.

While we could go through the book and figure out where this line comes from, it’s not all that clear who he will be speaking to during the scene. It’s possible that it’s Tom Christie. After all, it is Tom that helps Roger actually find a place in the past.

We know a church will be built. If the series follows the books, that church will be Roger’s. He becomes a minister for the Ridge, and that does allow him to find a place without abandoning or risking his family.

What’s important with the line though is that Bree and Jemmy are his family. It doesn’t matter if Jem’s biological father is the now dead Stephen Bonnet. Roger has claimed him as his son, and that’s all that matters.
