We’ve all been waiting patiently for the release of the ninth Outlander book. The wait is almost over. Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone is out tonight.
Check your Kindle or Audible at around midnight local tonight. You should see Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone automatically added if you’ve pre-ordered it. There’s still time to get that pre-order in so you’ll be able to read it right away.
If you haven’t pre-ordered it, you’ll be able to buy it around midnight tonight. Keep an eye out for the release. It’s almost here.
Yes, there have been some people who received their copies recently. Many of them are people who pre-ordered online via various retailers. Those retailers shipped out a little early not knowing what the postal delays would be like, which is understandable, especially this time of the year!
There are some bookstores selling early. Most of these are the bigger bookstores that would rather pay the fines for early sales. It is unfair against the smaller booksellers, and I do try to shop local when I can. I’ll admit that I’ve got my Audible pre-order in as I’m not a fan of hardback books. Once the paperback is out, I’ll go into my local bookseller and get the physical copy.
The first chapters of Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone revealed
Diana Gabaldon shares updates now and then. Her latest Daily Lines post isn’t actually a set of lines. Instead, we get the titles of the first 10 chapters.
They make up Part I, which is titled “A Swarm of Bees in the Carcass of a Lion.” The first chapter title is certainly going to stand out, as it confirms everything that we hoped after the way the eighth book ended.
“The MacKenzies Are Here” makes it clear that it really is Roger, Brianna, Jemmy, and Mandy coming over the Ridge to their family. They’ve made it back to the 18th century, which we suspected they would. To be honest, all the Daily Lines we’ve read confirmed they would.
Some of the titles are only going to make sense when you start reading the chapters. However, “Animal Nursery Tales” does suggest that we’re going to get a chapter of Brianna or Roger potentially reading nursery tales to their children. Maybe they brought back a book of stories, allowing them to read to some of the other children in the family.
There is one title that stands out that makes us need to know more. “Dead or Alive” is worrying.
