Droughtlander suggestions: Check out the 4400 reboot on The CW
The 4400 reboot is just three episodes in on The CW. It could be something to help you get through a bit more of Droughtlander.
When we look at Droughtlander suggestions, we tend to offer binge-watches. They get through a tiny bit of Droughtlander, but this Droughtlander is going on for a while longer. We’re not expecting Outlander Season 6 until February 2022.
That means looking for something else to watch. What about a show that airs weekly? The 4400 reboot on The CW is that. A new episode airs on Mondays, but is it something that will help you get through Droughtlander?
What is the 4400 reboot about?
If you watched the original series The 4400, you’ll have an idea of what to expect. The reboot follows the basic premise of a group of 4,400 people suddenly appearing in one place at one time. All these people went missing or were presumed dead throughout the last 100 years.
None of them know the year. They believe that they’re still in the year that they went missing.
On top of that, they’ve all come back with some sort of ability. One is able to heal instantly, while another is able to move things with her mind.
The majority of the people who have returned are Black. One thing they note is how things haven’t changed for Black people in the last century, which says a lot about our own systemic racism.
Why watch the series during Droughtlander
What makes this series so good for Droughtlander? Part of it is the weekly release. Each week, there’s a new episode to watch and it’s sure to fill up a fair bit more of the Outlander break.
There is also the time travel element. In fact, at one point, one of the characters mentions Outlander because of the time travel theory. The people have no idea what happened to them, so they can’t help but wonder if they’ve somehow fallen through time and ended up in 2021.
We also get the mystery of abilities; abilities that they choose to keep a secret from each other and the authorities. And there is the fear of why these people returned. It’s not surprising that multiple people are suspicious of them, and some of it won’t be to do with race. They just want to know why and how these people turned up in 2021 on the same day at the exact same time.
We’re just three episodes in right now. This is certainly a series that will offer a lot of questions and it’s going to take some time to get answers.
