What is Clanlands Almanac about?
Clanlands Almanac is the second book from Outlander stars Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish. What is the book going to be about?
Clanlands gave us an initial insight in to the history and beauty of Scotland. Heughan and McTavish took us on their road trip with them, looking into the history of the clans and tartans, the beauty of the Highlands, the superstitions of the people, and so much more.
There was only so much that would fit into the first book. It’s not surprising to find out that the two have teamed up again to bring us a second book.
Clanlands Almanac is coming on Tuesday, Nov. 23 (yes, the same date as a certain other Outlander book!), and here’s everything you need to know about it.
What is Clanlands Almanac about?
The book will take readers into more of the history and tales of Scotland. The full title is Clanlands Almanac: Season Stories from Scotland. That should give you an idea of what to expect.
Our two road trippers take us through some of the lore and superstitions of Scotland. Some of them you may have heard of through Outlander. Others you may have been involved in without necessarily realizing it.
This is a light-hearted education in Scottish history and culture. It looks at the Fringe Festival and things that happen during that time. There’s a look at what First Footing and Samhain really are to the Scots and where the legends and superstitions came from. There’s a chance to look into some of the historical and also contemporary events around the country throughout the year.
It’s all told through the eyes of Sam and Graham. You know it’s them that made the first Clanlands book entertaining, and they’d going to do it again this time.
Clanlands Almanac is heading to shelves on Tuesday, Nov. 23. You can already pre-order the book on Amazon now.
