Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

The foreshadowing is within the story of the tube station. There is far more to this story than Roger is allowing himself to remember just now.

We find out later that his mom never threw him into just a crowd of people. She threw him to one person in particular. His dad showed up at the bottom of the tube station, and we learn that his dad didn’t die when Roger was a baby. It’s Roger’s dad who has the time-traveling gene.

There are just hints of this, though. After all, Roger doesn’t remember who he was thrown to, but would his mom just throw him and hope for the best? I guess some mothers would. However, there’s this hint with how she lets go and then picks him up to throw him that she sees something surprising and then reacts.

Adapting The Fiery Cross chapter

The chapter hasn’t been used in Outlander so far. I’m not sure it will be used in Outlander Season 6, either. This chapter has a bigger connection to Roger’s story moving forward.

In later books, Roger gets to go on a time-traveling journey of his own. He gets to meet his dad and find out the truth. Getting just a hint of it now is worthwhile and important. We get to find out just what he remembers and how his brain has protected him until he’s ready to think about it all.

There’s a chance the show isn’t going to have time for Roger’s big journey. I get this feeling that a lot of this is going to be skipped because I’m starting to feel like Outlander Season 7 is going to be the last. I sincerely hope it isn’t, but there’s just this sense that the show is going to wrap things up before the books.

If the next parts are skipped over, there’s no need to go into what Roger remembers of his mom. And if we do get it, it probably won’t be in as much detail. However, I would have loved to see it all play out on the screen. Roger is one of my favorite characters in the show and in the books, so I’m always excited to see/read more about him.
