Outlander Season 6 is not coming to STARZ in September 2021

There are plenty of shows premiering in September 2021, but Outlander Season 6 isn’t one of them. Just how long are we waiting for the new season?

We are certainly used to long Droughtlanders. This one has been longer and harder than previous ones. We can blame COVID-19 for that.

While filming wrapped on the series back in June 2021, we learned that we’d have to wait for 2022 for the new episodes to arrive. It’s not surprising then that Outlander Season 6 isn’t on the list of new arrivals on STARZ in September 2021.

Of course, we want to know when Droughtlander is coming to an end. So, how long will we have to wait for new episodes of our favorite time-traveling drama?

Outlander Season 6 premiere date predictions

Right now, all we officially know is that Outlander Season 6 is coming in early 2022. That could be any time between January and April, really.

However, Sam Heughan did share February 2022 shortly after the initial official announcement. We’re pretty confident that he was telling the truth since it does make sense. Sure, that’s a long time between finishing filming and a premiere date, but there are a few factors involved.

We have to remember that COVID-19 is slowing a lot down, even the post-production work (although not as much as production). On top of that, STARZ would have already set some premiere dates for fall 2021, even without officially announcing them to the world. The network doesn’t want to put all its top shows on at the same time, so spacing out is important.

February is the month of love. What better time than to bring the story that is all about Claire and Jamie? The fifth season premiered on Valentine’s Day Weekend, and we can see the same thing happening with Outlander Season 6.
