Will Outlander Season 6 be on Netflix?
Outlander Season 6 is happening, and we’ll get to see it arrive in early 2022. The question for many is whether it will be on Netflix to stream.
Droughtlander is hard. There’s absolutely no denying that, but this current Droughtlander is the hardest. There were delays due to the pandemic, and now we know that filming is finished but that the episodes won’t arrive until early 2022.
Sam Heughan shared that it will come in February 2022. Of course, STARZ and the official Outlander channels haven’t confirmed that, but February 2022 makes a lot of sense. And at least we have a rough idea of the arrival.
Now you’ll want to get ready to make sure you can watch all the episodes. Will you be able to binge-watch them on Netflix? Will Outlander Season 6 come to Netflix at all?
Outlander Season 6 will first come to STARZ
There’s a bit of bad news if the only streaming platform you sign up to is Netflix. Outlander Season 6 will not immediately head there.
The series is a STARZ show. That means the episodes will head to STARZ first, and the show will get the traditional weekly release that all STARZ shows do. While an app and a subscription platform, STARZ is also a premium cable channel that that means weekly releases are opted for due to the channel.
There is a chance that Outlander Season 6 will eventually head to Netflix. This is going to depend on licensing agreements that are to come. It’s also not going to be for quite some time. It looks like the release timing is two years after the season finale airs on STARZ.
We’re looking at the Outlander Season 6 finale to air around the middle of April 2022 since the season will have just eight episodes. This will mean April 2024 for the season to head to Netflix. Keeping two years makes sense for STARZ, as the company needs to keep content exclusive to its service for a while to make as much money as possible. If the money goes elsewhere via subscribers, there won’t be enough for STARZ to keep the series on the air.
