Just the Outlander chapter

Fergus has brought letters back with him from his latest trip to the town. Claire looks through them and sees that there’s nothing from Jenny yet.

While Ian Murray writes regularly, Jenny still hasn’t written to Jamie since finding out that Young Ian stayed with the Mohawk. She’s angry with Jamie for allowing Ian to stay, even though it was Young Ian’s decision. Claire knows that the lack of communication from Jenny is hurting Jamie. She wants Jenny to write, but at the same time, she’ll understand the pain Jenny is in.

And we all know Jenny can hold a grudge. This is important for later chapters in the books.

There is one letter that stands out. It’s from Lieutenant Hayes, who has news about Stephen Bonnet. It turns out that he’s a formidable pirate, but there are suspicions that he’s into something else. There’s nothing exactly clear in the letter, but it’s clear that Bonnet does far more than smuggle the usual items.

Brianna is angry that Jamie is looking for Bonnet. She’s also angry that Jamie is using people who aren’t as discreet as Lord John Grey. This puts everyone at risk, all for the sake of revenge on Jamie’s part.

Claire wants to know if Bree wants Jamie to do this. Does she want to get revenge against Bonnet for what he did? Bree isn’t sure at first. She doesn’t want to give into that side of her, but in the end, she admits that she does want Jamie to get his revenge.
