We had feared that David Berry wouldn’t be part of Outlander Season 6. The World Outlander Day video suggests that isn’t the case after all.
At the end of Outlander Season 5, many fans will remember David Berry took to Instagram to say goodbye. He said it was the “final ep on the show,” which had many fans wondering whether that was it. Lord John Grey was going to England, but would that mean he wasn’t returning to the Colonies?
Of course, book fans know that this isn’t the case. Lord John Grey does show up in the books. The storyline with Ulysses traveling to England with Lord John Grey was purely made up for the series to wrap Ulysses’s storyline quickly. However, because of this change, we did wonder if other changes would happen.
That doesn’t seem to be the case after all. June 1 is World Outlander Day, and the show celebrated with some comments from the cast of Outlander Season 6. One of those cast members was David Berry.
Is Lord John Grey returning to Outlander Season 6?
Of course, some of the clips could have been from comments made with the Season 5 cast. I wouldn’t say that is the case, though. The big giveaway is that all three Christie members are there to share what it’s like coming into this show with the fanbase.
So, with that in mind, David Berry’s inclusion is likely due to him being part of Season 6. It makes sense considering the connection he has to so many members of the Fraser and MacKenzie families.
What type of involvement will he have in the season? The later books is where we get more chapters from Lord John Grey’s perspective. Is it possible that we’ll see some of his storyline without Jamie? After all, there are some big storylines involving young William coming up! Could they be part of Season 6?
What do you hope to see from Lord John Grey? Are you glad David Berry is back? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
